Jitterbug, previously Nova, is from the Celestial Litter (Gillyweed x Luna Love - DOB 4/30/25) which is the first litter I co-bred with Gillyweed as the sire. Originally, I was not planning on keeping back a puppy due to the timing of the litter. But this little girl is an incredibly fun, high drive, merle copy of her dad and I just couldn't resist taking her home to play!
Bug is beautiful, outgoing, confident, and friendly. She has phenomenal drive and yet settles wonderfully when needed, is highly trainable, fun loving, and seeks engagement / connection. This girl has exactly every single trait I was hoping for in a Gillyweed puppy. So long as you are playing with her, she is enthusiastically game for anything! Throughout her early puppyhood, she was tested and evaluated for a wide variety of sports and she showed excellent drive and versatility for just about everything we threw her way. But one thing is for sure. This girl LOVES disc!
Jitterbug is owned by Kat and Jack Fahle, two of the UpDog founders, from Dade City, FL. I am incredibly proud to co-own this girl with them and am so excited for her future!
Sports / Training:
Updated 09/01/25 - Bug has joined forces with Kat and Jack Fahle and will be training to be one of their future competitive frisbee dogs. To those already involved in the sport, the Fahle's need no introduction. Needless to say, this little girl won the disc dog lottery and is going to have an absolute blast training with some of the best in the industry! We are so excited to watch her grow up and mature with them as their adventures continue.

Onset of Drive - early puppyhood (quick to offer behaviors for training as early as 8 weeks)

Praise Drive - Medium/high
Herding Instinct / Drive - Excellent Drive / Brave and keen, but not bull headed or aggressive
Behavior in new environment - Eager and confidant
Off Switch - Settles nicely once she gets her puppy zoomies out, but has lots of energy to burn first
Crating Behavior - Sleeps through the night. Quiet and calm in crate during the day between play times and when traveling
Reaction to Unknown Children - LOVES children!
Reaction to Strangers in public - Friendly and will offer to approach
Reaction to Strangers entering home - Will initially alert bark and offer to approach, and is friendly when meeting
Reaction to Farm Animals - interested, brave, and keen, but not bull headed or aggressive
Reaction to Dogs - Friendly and enjoys playing with non aggressive dogs. Will sometimes alert bark to strange dogs.
Car rides / travel - Quiet and relaxed. Rests comfortably in a crate while traveling.
